The government has recognised the huge benefits of electric vehicles and the need to develop existing infrastructure and has therefore made provision for up to £350 funding, available through the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles grant (Previously OLEV –Office for Low Emission Vehicles)
The Use of Electric vehicles is a Crucial step to decarbonising our transport system and the reduction in air pollution through Zero Tailpipe Emissions. The Government realises that many people will want to be able to charge their electric vehicles at home. So this Scheme is designed to help them do that.
What is the OZEV ‘EVHS’ (Electric Vehicle Home Charge Scheme)?
It is a scheme that is Government funded that provides support to Eligible persons, wishing to have Electric Vehicle Charging Points installed at home.
The Grant will enable a person who has qualified to apply for one (1) charge point and up to two (2) charge points at the same property if they have 2 qualifying vehicles. They will provide a Grant of 75% up to £350 incl vat (capped ) per Charge Point.
The Grant works by us the EVHS installer, checking if the customer qualifies and then applying on the customers behalf for the grant which is offset against the bill for the works (this will be factored in already when a cost is supplied to the customer for the works).
The Charge point fitted must be OZEV Approved and Fitted by an OZEV Approved installer.
The Main requirements is that the person owns, leases, or has ordered a qualifying vehicle and has dedicated off street parking at their property.
